My Snail Secretary Waves Hello
Feb 5th
Argh! Evil forces of nature have rendered this blog totally boring…
There is stuff going on – and yeah one of these days there will NEW stuff up here to read. I have a lot of half written articles and stuff. {stop laughing!} No really…
For my benefit (but feel free to read it and bore yourself to death) an itemized list of stuff I would like to accomplish by next Friday:
- All Gamer Girl Geeksquee posts up
- Spell & Grammar check GGG.
- Fix Broken Links GGG
- All Two Clouds Above Nine posts up {DONE}
- Spell & Grammar check 2Ca9
- Fix Broken Links 2Ca9
- Finish applying categories to drafted posts, delete any repetitive or useless posts: currently remaining 530
- Finish writing Tales of the Paranormal article re: Bird Men, Lost Race or Alien Visitors?
- Finish writing Netflix Horror Movie Experiment article re: Chain of Souls
- Convert old Ghost Stories HTML page into longer articles for Tales of the Paranormal
- Potentially interview James Daly & Joanne Peatfield for Tales of the Paranormal re: Hampton Beach UFO Incident Summer 1992.
- Begin doing WiiFit again, and re-institute blog “Ishtar’s WiiFit Adventure”
There maybe that will keep me focused and motivated.
Maybe I’ll even start tonight – being as I’m totoally EQ-ed out from alternating between normal server and Beta all week.
In search of the Missing Link…
Jan 7th
Ha! I’m fooling you , right?
You thought I was going to write something all profound and mysterious, like about Yetis or man evolving from primates (or at the very least a post about our intrepid Zelda hero in green)… BUT NO!
I’m just writing to say that there are a lot of dead links in the posts (which you’ve probably noticed by now). Unfortunately that’s a combo of three items 1) Not all the posts are up yet – hence the article doesn’t technically exist to link to (until I republish) 2) Some of the links go to “Song of the Day” (now “Song of the Moment”) which will eventually be hosted on my other site thethemeshow.com, but one website at a time, shall we? and 3) There’s still a lot of MySpace crossover, and those links have that stupid anti-phish filter that make them pointless once you move the posts out of MySpace, so I have to entirely relink.
Hooked on Phonics, worked for me!

Right now I am concentrating on getting everything back up again. Yes I am aware that it’s a grammar and spelling nightmare! Yes I intend to fix it. But considering it took me this long just to put the posts back up, don’t hold your breath or anything
You have crafted a “personal website” with moderate sucess. Webmastery 14/100

LOOK OUT! My inner gamer is showing…
Anyway - the good news about EQ2 being down this morning is – I’m not slacking off for a change. I’ve actually gone allllll the way back to my original navigation. The simpler I was trying to make it – the more complicated it was, so back to square one; and to be honest (for me anyways) this seems like the easiest route.
Also hope you like the new name – which is a play on the supernatural and unexplained phenomena magazine “Fortean Times“.
Short explanation of the term “Protean” – is somebody who has widely varied, often changing interests. Someone say, like Leonardo da Vinci who was a painter, inventor, anatomist, musician – and a bunch of other things to boot! Now, I’m no Leo or anything, but I think one would agree that I have a pretty darn random list of things I can and/or want to do at any given moment…. so there yah go, new name – old format, and as always copious amounts of thought deluge: so have at it!
Oh, Look! They’re wearing Jam Trousers…

As you can see I’m having yet another go at organizing this mess, and failing miserably. I’m beginning to suspect the main culprit is the attempt at having some sort of navigation. I’m wondering if just having one big ole blog is the way to go and just let the categories sort everything else. Also I need a better name…
Intellectual Wormhole

Don’t mind me. I took everything down temporarily. I’m having a major moment (again) how to best organize the endless deluge of mental vomit. I have one major post impending (maybe tomorrow) and then I’m going to neaten up again, again, again…

A lot of the time, it looks like not a whole lot is going on here. A lot of the time there isn’t. I mean well, and try to do something (even something small) every day.. but sometimes I admit I just go weeks without anything at all.
However this week, though you may not immediately notice it, I have been doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff. The biggest project currently is getting all those pesky Imaginary Hunks of the Month posts back up. Right now I have about 4 out of the 136 done, so as you can tell I have some work cut out for me. Part of this was in the decision to change the old formatting. The original blog was set to a black background, so it had a lavender font which clashed horribly with the new color scheme. Also many of the original photos were outdated (esp. with many of the characters coming into the CG age) so I chose to ditch a lot of the old pictures in favor of some new “prettier” ones. In addition I have updated all entries to have up-to-date information as to the various media in which you can see them, so even though say Sephiroth was posted in 1998, it contains appearances in video games through his most recent incarnation in “Dissidia: Final Fantasy”.
The other major project lie in deciding on a final home for the Moldy Oldies Chat Logs. I REALLY disliked them as sub-pages – it made my sidebar menus excruciatingly long and hard to manage! So in the end I decided to make each of them their own HTML page which link off the main Chat Log sub-page. Using this combination proved to be much more aesthetic and manageable, and since the chats are more or less text based anyways – the HTML code minimalist and easy to peruse.
Finally in sifting through what to keep (and what to throw away – why am I such a virtual pack-rat?!) I think I’ve decided on at least a few more posts which should make their way (hopefully within the next few hours) to the new “Non-Sequitur” page.
In closing, a quick question to anyone who is reading who wished to answer: I have a bunch of old memes. I probably should just delete them. They’re difficult to maintain as they tend to go out of circulation, and to keep them updated I often have to host a lot of the images in-house to keep them active. On the other, I feel like it’s semi-related to my persona. The way I asnwer the memes says a lot about me particularly when referenced against the time period in which i take them (you can clearly see my persona graduate out of Goth and into my more current personality) so I feel like I should not only keep them but post them. But then again.. who really wants to read other people’s memes anyways? SO how about you vote? To meme or not to meme (keep in mind it will be hosted if I do it as it’s own category which means you won’t have to read them on the front page unless I take and post any new ones).?

Ahoy, me Hearties! Let me begin by wishing all Sea Dogs an’ Landlubbers alike a most jolly International Talk Like a Pirate Day!
A new category be added t’ th’ Sea Journal, ’tis called ”Non-Sequitur”, a phrase which I mightily plundered from me fellow wench, Fenraven! It used t’ be known as “Random Thought o’ th’ Tide (day)”; but I did nay be havin’ th’ good fortune o’ them occurin’ on a daily basis, and ‘t be too long t’ write! So I decided t’ adopt th’ shorter self-explanatory phrasin’. This be th’ place I be scribblin’ any mere tidbit I feel like expressin’ regardless o’ how inane or ridiculous. Ye best be enjoying ‘t or I`ll be havin’ t’ keel-haul ye!
What Happened to Social Networking?
Aug 10th
For those of you who keep track of me over at Twitter or Face Book; you’re probably wondering what the heck is going on over there?!
No I’m not leaving… what I’m working on is a bit of a revamp. Sure I suppose I could have left my old posts up; but what I wanted was a fresh start.
I’m retraining myself in a way to use my social networks more efficiently.
Previously I had all posts from this site feeding to my Face Book wall. What ended up was a bit of a disheveled mess, in which the posts would have to be clicked on to continue reading; and in some case like Song of the Day, you had to click out of the post anyways to see the video/hear the song. So it was a lot of unnecessary clicking, when really if I just posted a tiny URL directly to the original post as part of the status it would not only be less work for the reader but also more traffic generated to my blogs. So from now on new blog posts will be advertised via Twitter links (and thusly forwarded via Twitter app to Face Book).
I’m also going to attempt to steer myself away from boring tweets (i.e. eating lunch) and towards more in-depth explanations (i.e. if i post about lunch I’ll post what I’m having, maybe if it’s fancy to one of my cooking blogs, etc.) In other words something a bit more substantial and worth your time to actually bother clicking on/reading/etc.
It’s going to take a bit of practice, so bear with me, but hopefully the end result will worth all the effort.
Also you may notice that the side nav now has links to both my Face Book and Twitter pages, so if you’re not already freinding/following me.. well what are you waiting for? Get clicking!!!
